30 performers: 15 Polish and 15 foreign will compete during Bydgoszcz Hit the Festival, which will be held at "Łuczniczka" hall on 28-29 August. And on September 25 stars will give free concerts in Fordon district.

On Thursday, August 12, in the city hall the Mayor of Bydgoszcz Konstanty Dombrowicz and the President of the Foundation "Tumult" Marek Żydowicz signed an agreement on the organization of the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography Plus Camerimage in Bydgoszcz.

‘Słonecznik 2’ (Sunflower 2) takes 30 people on board: 28 passengers and 2 crew members. It is the third vessel in Bydgoszcz that operates as the city water tram. Its maiden voyage took place on Thursday - August 12.

Sightseeing routes, cultural events and a hotel base in Bydgoszcz, as well as advice on how to reach the city is now available on a new website www.visitbydgoszcz.pl set up by the Bydgoszcz Information Centre.

Bydgoszcz City Council has passed a resolution on becoming a candidate city to the European Capital of Culture 2016.

‘’Bydgoszcz. Prospects’’ – this is the title of the film created by two people from Bydgoszcz: Robert Kubicki and Sebastian Hetman. The music was composed by Marcin Pawłowski.

Café Pianola will be officially opened on Thursday evening. From Friday, June 18, it will open the door for tea and coffee lovers.

Bydgoszcz will compete in the contest for the title of European Capital of Culture 2016. The decision was taken on April 8 in the red granary on Mill Island during a meeting of representatives of cultural circles with the Mayor of Bydgoszcz Konstanty Dombrowicz.

Councillors approved the proposal of Mayor Konstanty Dombrowicz associated with tax exemptions for new hotels. The period of tax exemption will depend on hotels’ standards and for three-star hotel it will be 3 years, for three-star hotels – 4 years and for five-star hotels – 5 years. The aim of these new regulations is to stimulate the development of accommodation facilities in our city.

The goal of the Bydgoszcz Convention Bureau, which was established within the structures of The Bydgoszcz City Hall, is to meet the demands of business tourism. The unit’s goal is to support the development of business tourism at both the local and regional level. The fundamental role of the Bureau is active promotion of the city - the creation of a uniform and comprehensive image of Bydgoszcz as a friendly conference centre which welcomes all visitors and offers high-standard professional services.

The tasks of the Convention Bureau include consultancy services connected with the organisation of meetings in Bydgoszcz and its region, and co-operation with conference organisers preparing events. In order to optimally utilise the tourist and conference infrastructure, the Bureau provides information concerning the calendar of events held in Bydgoszcz .
