The city transport comprises mainly public buses and trams but there are also private vans and buses. Timetables can be found on the bus stops and the city maps are placed in every bus and nearby the bus stops. There are different kinds of tickets – ordinary ticket is a fare for one journey by particular means of transport (it must be stamped just after getting on). Night tickets are ordinary tickets used on night buses. Additional ordinary ticket must be stamped if one travels with a luggage with a size over 60/90 cm. Wheel-chairs, prams, small animals, small luggage may be transported with no additional fares. Citizens of Bydgoszcz who are over 65 years old, as well as some privileged groups and granted a special right by the City Council and are partly or fully relieved from paying fares. Public City Transport: - regular lines (buses and trams) - fast lines (buses) – ticket prices are higher from those for regular lines - night lines - special lines (only in the summer, taking the passengers to the neighbouring holiday resorts) The tickets can be bought at the newsagent’s and in special public ticket offices that are usually located at the bus terminals. Trams In Bydgoszczthere are 8 public tramlines that connect the city centre with bigger districts. The main transfer centre in Bydgoszcz is at jagiellonów Roundabout, where 6 tramlines and 14 different bus lines (also night buses) meet. From here one can get e.g. to the Forest Culture and Entertaiment Park in Myślęcinek (trams numbers 1 and 2). Buses There are 40 lines of buses in Bydgoszcz (including 2 fast lines and 5 night lines). The main transfer centres are at Jagiellonów Roundabout and nearby the main Bus and Coach Station and the main Railway Station (Dworzec Bydgoszcz Główna). Taxi In Bydgoszcz there are numerous taxi corporations. Taxi ranks are located nearby the busiest transport centres: at the main Railway Station Dworzec Bydgoszcz Główna, at the Bus and Coach Station, at Wolności, Piastowski, Teatralny and Kościeleckich Squares, at the intercsections of Gdańska and Słowackiego Streets and Gdańska and Zamojskiego Streets, and at Przy Zamczysku Street. Car parks In the city centre, behind the Youth Palace (nearby Jagiellonów Roundabout) there is a multilevel parking place of Auto-Park Corporation. At Pod Blankami Street – there is a guarder car park. Parking lots are also situated at Wolności Square, Wełniany Rynek (Wool Market), Nowy Rynek (New Market Square), Rybi Rynek (Fish Market) and at Grodzka Street. The area of the Old Town and the Downtown since 3 December 2003 has been a Paid Parking Zone.
